I suddenly recall with much amusement, a period in my younger years when I was very gullible. Do a little convincing and I would believe that a fairy will visit me if I can fart to the tune of ‘London Bridge is Falling Down’.
It was a Christmas eve that day and my Mum & maid told me and my brother that Santa Claus is visiting that night and the both of us should hang socks on the window in order to receive gifts from the man in red who travels with flying reindeers.
I don’t know about the rest of you but I don’t have nice Christmas socks like the ones above and all I have were old, white socks that I wear to school. They were so old that some spots were a little yellow and the rubbers at the top of the socks were loose and over stretched. If Santa were visiting with gifts, why not make full use of the situation; and so I put up the largest, old, smelly sock that I could find on the window grille that night. (I realized later that Santa usually climb down chimneys and since HDBs do not have any, I should have hung the sock near the rubbish chute…)
I woke up the next morning with my white sock groaning with the weight of sweets and candy and believing that Santa actually came by Jurong West that night.
Oh, the shame.

Another Christmas, Another Birthday, Another Year…
It’s only two days away from Christmas, which also happens to be my birthday! Yes, I am a Christmas baby and Christmas was great until people around me realize that they should give me one birthday-cum-Christmas present instead of two separate gifts. One good thing that is still prevalent through these years is that it is so easy to remember my birthday; Kris is born on Christmas day! How hard is that? If you don’t remember my birthday, SHAME ON YOU!!! Go repent and get me a big gift! (Or make it two… )
SUBTLE HINT: iwantanipodtouch16GBthankyouverymuch
As much as I would like to believe that I am 18 years of age, I am actually turning 27 on Christmas and that thought is quite scary! I am actually inching towards the big 30 soon! And I can actually feel the age catching up on me; friends of the same age/batch getting married, more wrinkles, deteriorating stamina and most of all, the increasing hunger for a superpower to turn back time. That and X-ray vision. Heheheheheheheeee.
Despite the fallbacks that come of age, I think I am still happy with the past year. I made a lot of friends through the revival of blogging in February and through channels and platforms like wholivesnearyou.com, ping.sg, twitter, yebber, facebook & plurk. Being so active in the social media scene also gave me opportunities to attend various events that added colors to an otherwise mundane life. Most of all, thanks to Ruifang aka KuKuNehNeh aka KKNN aka the gf, for contributing the most joy for the past year.
Merry KRISmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

Christmas With The 6 Nuttz & 6 Testicles
The Nuttz held their yearly Christmas gift exchange at Fish Market & Bistro, Greenwood Avenue, this year. Instead of painting each other to look like weird animals, they decided to hold a hat-themed party this year. Last year, KKNN made me look like a diseased person instead of a giraffe and this year, she bought me a cabaret hat that couldn’t fit.
MY HEAD IS VERY BIG LAR HELLO!!!
And so, I had to wear a Santa hat.
I roughly look like that, sans the beard
Beautifully coloured wall for gorgeous shots!
We couldn't get enough of these fresh oysters and ordered more!
The Nuttz!
The interior of Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro is quite beautifully designed with the right amount of light for a nice dinner ambiance. The staff were all very friendly, especially the one who was serving our table. One quirk about the restaurant is that not everything is available on the menu. You may find it outrageous to have that happen but the reason is that Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro believes in serving food of quality and if the particular catch is not up to their standards on that day, they will not sell it. It’s a pity that we did not manage to eat stuffs like foie gras but true to their word, every dish that they serve out of the kitchen were very fresh and most of them were quite delicious.
If you ever stop by the restaurant, do try the following; salmon, oysters, softshell crab, fish & chips (battered or breaded).
After the sumptuous dinner, we went down Greenwood avenue to Pepperoni Pizzeria (Another place with great food!) for drinks and gift exchange and some alcohol guzzling. Not a bad way to start off the festive season!
6 girls who called themselves ‘The Nuttz’ and 3 guys, which make us the ’6 Nuttz and 6 Testicles’!

There are Dogs in my Soup Leh!!!
KuKuNehNeh expected some friends over last Saturday and so she decided to whip up a feast for us like she did the last time for me. This bunch of six girls (including KuKuNehNeh) are called “The Nuttz”. The Nuttz consists of the following members in no particular order.
1. Jacqueline the “Zebra”
.
2. Yanling the “Monkey”
.
3. Audrey the “Rat”
.
4. Deborah the “Ladybird”
.
5. Ruifang the “Tiger”
.
6: Huiwen the “Panda”
.
The pictures are actually from our party last Christmas but I stumbled over it and found it so funny that I have to use it in this post.
WAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! (They are all so going to kill me)
We had 9 people for the party including the six nuttz, and three boyfriends. We had to draw lots to see who would represent an unfortunate animal.
I was one of the 1st to be ‘painted’ and KuKuNehNeh volunteered to do it. She totally messed up and our resident artist, Audrey, had to do some touch-up but the damage was already done.
Guess what animal I was supposed to be?

I was supposed to be a….
GIRAFFE…
.
WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAA!!!
I look more like a man with some skin disease lor.
Tiger eating a very disinterested Giraffe.
.
I REALLY DIGRESS TOO MUCH! Anyway, back to last Saturday; We went out for an early breakfast in the morning before shopping for the ingredients and she had a shopping list.
If you see the above, it lists the ingredients for the Soup as,
1. Bah Kut
2. Corn
3. Carrot
4. Red dates
5. DOG???
.
Before I explain further, these are the dishes she came up with.
.
And of course the focus is on the soup which apparently has ‘DOGS’ in it!
Eh… No dog leh!
Chey!… actually ‘dog’ refers to this lar.
They are actually Chinese Wolfberry which are called “Gao Ki” in hokkien which translates as “Dog’s Teeth”. KuKuNehNeh doesn’t know the former and she only remembers it as “Dog Something”.
WAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!
