Krisandro.com Needs Your Opinion
I have been getting feedback from bloggers and friends about the current website. These are some of the ones I have heard.
#1. The website layout is too messy.
#2. The website loads too slowly.
#3. Too many ads running.

So far, I have addressed #3. I took down the google adsense and since yesterday, I took down the nuffnang ads as well as they were causing my site to slow to a crawl.
As for #2. The slow site load times could be due to my lousy webhost or due to the increased loads recently. That I can’t do much, but I think I shall cut down more widgets to increase the load times.
As for #1, I didn’t really think much about it till a few people brought it up to me. Should I just reduce to ONE side bar to help?

I need you guys and girls to give your opinions on the website and see how I can improve. I know I cannot please everyone, but I sure would love to please as many guys as possible.
Okay. “please as many guys as possible” sounds totally wrong.
If you got any other suggestions to help improve this website. Please say something! Do not give useless comments like “KRIS! YOU SUCK!” or “KRIS! MY GRANDMA’S BLOG IS MORE L33T THAN YOURS!”. I need constructive criticisms, not facts.

Messy meh? Haha I don’t think so leh..Quite alright. The loading wise is acceptable? I notice the last thing to load is the white background. Is the file too big?

I think it’s not too messy. But if you would take the time to standardize the size of graphics on your sidebars, maybe that will be neater and it doesn’t look messy anymore.

mmm, it’s quite neat ma.
it’s probably lagging due to your webhost.
maybe you could remove “tag cloud”, if most don’t use it often to search for posts.

I think your blog looks ok. Not messy at all. You had slow load times because of Nuffnang? Me too, but the problem’s been resolved now I think. Your blog loading time is ok when I loaded it, by the way.

Ok, this is almost gonna be like an answer that I’d give on my exam question (if there ever is one. MUahaha..)
- “KISS” – it means different thing depending on what you’re doing. For your case, it means “Keep It Sweet & Simple”. Cut down on all unecessary elements & concentrate on your objectives.
- Be surprising, but relavent. Right now, your blog looks, well, just like any other blog. Are there ways to make it look like something else (to give it a surprising factor)? But beware not to stray too far from what your objective is… (juz a blog).
- Decide on an a single idea and work on it. Do not try to achieve 100 different things at the same time. It confuses the reader/viewer. Basically it means to decide on a theme that’s relavent to your site.
The lists goes on but that’s all I can think of now. Ok, I think I may be too critical. But I’m being constructive right (I hope)?

To be very honest with you, and I’m very serious ok. Don’t think I’m joking. *speaks in a serious tone* It’s a tad too girly for a guy’s blog! The color! The motifs background! Gosh!
Sidenote, different ppl got different prefrence lah. Never possible to please everyone. It’s ur blog, do whatever you one. For me, I like it simple and nice. 3 column with both sidebar together on the right is my fav.
Ur blog already very neat liao. I hate it when blogs have overflowing graphics, misaligned stuff n all… aiyoh! I want to blog about it for the longest time about blogs do and don’ts. But no time!! Remind me to do the post soon k!

The blog is slow in loading, probably due to web host or script.
2 web host companies I recommend is Doreo hosting and ICD soft or your own server.
The tag cloud can be removed.

Sidebar- Not really a prob of too much stuff, but just looks cluttered maybe because your headers not distinct. Maybe can design headers… or box them to make it neater.
And ar.. if u din realise ur left sidebar is like damn long but ur right sidebar so short!!!

I find your blog neater than most and it loads fine for me. But I would have to agree with claudia that the overall is kinda girly for a guy’s blog. But it would not be preventing me from visiting your blog often. Just concentrate on your contents.

^ haha, yes, as you can tell this analysing thing thinks your website is laggy.
I think you should keep the ads – it’s a source of income after all, right?
Just reduce the amount of ads on the homepage. After all, I think most of the people who actually read your posts are those who subscribe to your RSS feed – they’re the type who find the wait worth the while.
And another thing…why two sidebars? If not then…reducing the number of elements? E.g. archives and friends’ links can go on a separate page.

Don’t know if anyone told you, you got way too many scripts running. Try deactivating some plugins, you got like almost every single popular JavaScript library on the net (JQuery and Scriptaculous) except MooTools.
I tried to run your site on FireFox and Safari. It took more than a minute for your site to fully load, no joke! Your page size is 97.84kb, that’s more than 3 times my blog and I thought that it was slow.

Agree with claudia about the color. For example your top bar (?) which consists of ‘Blog’, ‘Contact Me’, ‘About Me’, and ‘Testimonials’ are in white font over a very light color background. Not really that easy to read.
That sucks! (Oh wait, constructive criticsm you said?)
You may want to consider a more contrasting color of the font and/or the background. (By the way I love a light color background. But not if the font is equally light).

I don’t find your blog messy but i do agree it is a little packed. You can use dropdown menu for archives and categories or even your linked list, it would make your blog looks tidier.

Another suggestion, post your photos elsewhere so that it’ll not take up the loading from ur server. For that, flickr is the best lah. I’ve spent my 4yrs with them. So yap. U might want to consider.
